"Love Is" by Leanne Smith
Hi everyone, I'm here today with my very first ever canvas. The photo I have chosen to use is one of my second son and his girlfriend.
With iCraft 3D texture shaping gel and a spatula in hand I firstly created some texture on my canvas. Once dried I coloured the canvas with heavy gesso black and in some places I mixed in some Lights Out chalk paint, to add some highlights and shading. I then moved on to dress the MDF wooden embellishments. I went over the frame with the iCraft texture gel mixed with black gesso. Once dried I went over it again with black gesso. Then using my finger I rubbed white gesso, chalk paints Egyptian Earth and Gold Rush over the frame. I mixed in Arty balls with some Egyptian Earth and Gold Rush mixed together, to add some texture. The flourish scroll I left plain and dressed with some of the Gold Rush paint here and there.
The flowers I used were from my stash. These were painted using the Gold Rush paint and liquid pearls. To finish off I rubbed the Gold Rush paint over the texture I had created on my back ground to highlight these areas. I painted the heart shaped wooden embellishment with black gesso, I then stamped in areas with a stamp and embossing ink and applied gold embossing powder. I then added a saying from my stash to it.
Hope this gives you a little inspiration to try a canvas of your own.
Until next time, happy scrapping.
Hugs Leanne x
