Altered Paint Brush By Kerrie Barnes

Hello everyone.  For this project I wanted to focus on iCraft's new Flimsy Sheets and Metallic Waxes.  I decided to alter an old paint brush I found in my Hubby's shed.  I began by sanding the paint brush first to remove old paint and impurities, then I wiped it over with a baby wipe.  Once dry to touch, I added a generous layer of iCraft Modelling Paste to the handle and top part of the bristles.  I waited for that to dry, then gave it a thick coat of iCraft Heavy Gesso Black.

While that dried, I primed my iCraft Wooden Embellishments with Heavy Gesso Black and set them aside to dry.  I cut flowers and leaves from an iCraft Flimsy Sheet, then watched a video tutorial on YouTube demonstrating how to heat and emboss them.  It took some practice, but I think it worked well in the end.

I glued the iCraft Wooden Embellishments onto the brush and added little pearls to the flimsy flowers before gluing them onto the brush as well.

I added iCraft Metallic Waxes to everything except the flowers and leaves, then added a metallic heart and butterfly on top of the wooden embellishments.  I had some leftover glass domes from another project, so I coated them in black gesso, then metallic wax, and glued those down as well.

Thank you for taking a look at my project and until next time, stay safe and happy crafting.  Cheers.  Kerrie xx.
